The most beautiful evening, walking the dogs and checking the horses, this is what my dreams are made of.
Since I was four years old I always wished for my horses to be close to home, to be able to feel them nearby, they’re part of my family and to leave them at a yard far away from where I lived always made my heart ache, so much so I hurried that feeling and disconnected.
But to come home from teaching and be able to wander down to hug them, sit with them and hear them breathe is just divine.
It took 30 years for that to become reality but the wait was worth it, because it means so much more to me now.
This moment reminds me that even when we long for things, our soul aches for them, sometimes we have to wait, we have to go on a journey to get there, and how we first envisaged them will be different to how it turns out, but the result is so much better than we could have ever hoped for.
