After hitting rock bottom on Friday it was time to take stock and be honest with myself about what more I could actually do for myself and our family to bring back health.
If I was honest, quite a lot.
My diet had fallen into poor nutrients, high carbs and very little sustenance, a roller coaster of sugar spikes and dips that was leaving my adrenal glands depleted and my inflammation through the roof.
As I know, any sort of stressor on the body creates inflammation, and rubbish food that my body doesn’t really get anything from is exactly that a stressor.
My mums celiac and although I know I’m not in that category, grains have never sat well for me, but I’d convinced myself recently that they weren’t doing me that much harm, that what time or energy do I have to think about making a more nutritious meal…and…

Sounds like you are all doing brilliantly Meg! I cleaned up my act last year after being so ill over the winter, cut out caffeine, ate less processed food, more fibre and veg.we all slip into these ruts, ironically I enjoy cooking but when you feel stressed it feels like something extra rather than something necessary! I'm slightly less strict about it now, a ready meal once in a while but not every night. You must be so proud of Olive supporting you like this- although sounds like it's benefitting her too! Incredible that those changes have brought results so quickly for you, You must be so pleased! Xxx
